Well this was interesting. I've never had birch beer before, so I had no idea what to expect. I smelled it before I took a drink and recognized the smell, but just couldn't place it.
Let me say this- as far as birch beer goes, Sioux City could be the best, I have no real way of knowing. I know their root beer is great, so I'd imagine their other drinks are good in their kind as well. Since I have nothing to base my rating on in this case, I've given it 3 stars- for benefit of the doubt.
In the end, this was not a soda for me. If you've never had birch beer and want to know what it tastes like, a Wint-O-Green Life Saver is a good substitute. If that's your kind of drink, Sioux City Birch Beer will certainly hit the spot.
